What can I recycle?

Is my recycling collected on the same day as my garbage?
Yes, it should be the same day. They try to get there at different times. Please have your recycling bin at the curb by 6 a.m.
What recyclable materials does Roseburg Disposal accept curbside?
We accept corrugated cardboard (flattened and no larger than 4′×4′), aluminum and tin cans, plastic bottles (rinsed, with no lids and a wide base/narrow spout), and used motor oil in sealed non-breakable containers. Please avoid glass, waxed cardboard, food-contaminated items, or hazardous liquids like paint thinner.
Is recycling collected on the same day as trash pickup?
Yes—recycling is typically collected on the same day as your garbage. Please place your recycling bin curbside by 6 a.m. on collection day to ensure pickup.
Where can I drop off recyclables if curbside isn’t an option?
You can bring recyclables to Douglas County landfills and transfer stations. Note that sites are closed Mondays and Tuesdays and accept limited items.
How do I dispose of large items or construction debris?
Large items, yard debris, and construction materials should be taken to the nearest landfill or transfer station. Visit our "Landfill and Transfer Stations" resource to find locations, hours, and accepted materials.
Where can I recycle bottles and cans for redemption?
Oregon’s BottleDrop network (including the full-service center at 740 NE Garden Valley Blvd.) accepts clean beverage containers (glass, plastic, aluminum) under 3L for a 10¢ refund per item.
What actions can help prevent landfill fires during wildfire season?
Avoid disposing of lithium batteries (commonly found in phones and laptops) in regular bins as they cause most transfer station fires. Never throw in hot ashes, propane tanks, or fireworks.
When and where are the Douglas County landfill and transfer stations open?
The main Roseburg Landfill at 384 McLain W Avenue is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; it’s closed on Sunday through Tuesday. Other county transfer stations may vary.
